Katelyn Thornburg

"I lead with love, shine with light, and move with purpose.”

Katelyn is a proud Bay Area native whose lifelong passion for movement, communication, and connection shines through everything she does. From a young age, Katelyn danced competitively around the globe, eventually leading her high school’s pom team as captain—a role that sparked her love for leadership, team spirit, and mentorship. Her dedication to dance has taken her to some of the world’s biggest stages, including Super Bowl XLVIII.

Driven by a heart for service and a passion for helping others express themselves, Katelyn pursued her academic journey at Texas Christian University (TCU), where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She went on to receive her Master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC), officially becoming a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. While living in Los Angeles, she continued refining her dance training, blending creativity with academic excellence.

Now entering her third season as a member of the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush, Katelyn brings high energy, discipline, and enthusiasm to the NFL sidelines. Off the field, she brings that same passion to her work as a pediatric speech therapist at Sweet Speech Therapy, where she empowers children to reach their communication milestones with confidence and joy.

A natural educator, Katelyn has been teaching dance and cheer since she was 15, offering private lessons and studio instruction that uplift, motivate, and build self-esteem. Whether in the classroom, studio, or on the field, her mission is clear: to inspire, support, and celebrate growth in every individual she meets.
