Brianna Mercado
"I am unstoppable!"
Brianna is a professional dance artist, teacher, and choreographer based in New York City. She started her dance training in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she attended the University of California Berkeley and graduated with a double major in Dance & Performance Studies and Social Welfare. Since her move to New York City, Brianna has completed the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center, Establish Your Empire, and Rock The Industry programs. She has had the honor to work pre-production for several Broadway shows & has worked with diverse leaders in the dance industry, including Jon Rua, Rhapsody James, Luam Keflezgy, Derek Mitchell, Andy Blankenbuehler, Jessica Hartman & Christopher Gattelli. Her own choreography has been featured on Lifetime’s Dance Mom’s, Fox Health News & Quartz, and has graced stages at The Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Symphony Space, and TED Talks. Her choreography and her students have earned prestigious awards at both local and national dance competitions from San Francisco to New York City. Standout performance credits include: PHISH at Madison Square Garden, Isn’t It Romantic (film), West Side Story (Assoc. Choreographer), Godspell (Assoc. Choreographer), MUNY’s Jesus Christ Superstar (Dance Captain), MUNY’s Aida (Dance Captain), Fuerza Bruta: Wayra, Broadway Underground, PHISH ‘Fuego’ Tour, Beyond Babel, and her own TED talk. With a passion for learning, empowerment, and healing others, Brianna is currently pursuing her Masters in Mind-Body Medicine with a certification in Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching. She also teaches weekly classes at Peridance Center in New York City.
