Marilyn Vigil-Harris

“I love myself and I love being here with me!”

As a competitive Latin dancer, Mari has three top three finishes at the World Latin Dance Cup, and they have also danced for Telemundo, the Metropolitan Opera Education Program, the SheNYC Arts Summer Theatre Festival, and the School at Jacob’s Pillow. Mari enjoys teaching dancers of all ages and is inspired by how learning to dance can be a vehicle for self-empowerment. In 2022, they launched the Salsa program at Amargue Flow Dance Academy, NYC’s only queer-led cultural dance academy for Afro-Latin Styles, and most recently taught Latin dance classes for ages 4-11 at Dance Project of Washington Heights. As a teacher, Mari draws on their training as an actor in both Laban and Viewpoints to help young dancers access their creativity while developing their motor skills, technique, strength, and sense of rhythm and musicality.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
